Aleister Gilgrim: Artist, Writer, Rotter for hire.
Born in the late 70’s in Anaheim CA, Aleister grew up with a strong fascination for horror culture, graffiti, old manga, comic art, Frankenstein monsters and terrible unicorns.
Graduating from Chapman University (2001), Aleister has worked in print comics, as a professional tattoo artist, a branding manager, VP of Creative Development, painter, freelance illustrator, clothing designer and concept artist/character designer. His print comic, The Cemeterians is available through SLG in a collected format. He has lived in the US, Russia and Japan.
Recently, Aleister was a freelance illustrator, character designer and concept designer for Disney Publishing’s “Disney English” Project. Along with hoping to begin work on a new series of gallery pieces, and is looking to get back into making comics for fun and profit. He has also begun work on a new Disney Publishing Project where he has been promoted to Senior Interactive Designer.
Aleister also (very occasionally) maintains a presence on the NR website, which is also shared with Kilian Heap and is the home of their joint-effort-webcomic of the same name:
Aleister lives happily with his fiancé Mary, and his son Salem Grey in an embarrassingly large secret lair hidden away and heavily fortified on the California coast.
