Ferrymen is the second Graphic Novel (GN) from Aleister Gilgrim. What began as a spin-off from his short story for Rising Stars of Manga from Tokyopop (Rising Stars Vol.3) has evolved over the last half decade into a single volume story of action, intrigue and philosophical examinations.
Ferrymen tells the story of a Newlydead named Dorothy, who being recently deceased is transported to the after-life. She quickly discovers that the after-life is nothing compared to what she expected and is briskly swepped up in a twisted plot of intrigue, deception and danger between the Dead Realms: Heaven, Hell and Purgatory.
Elevator Pitch:
Dorothy is Underworld by way of Neverwhere and Avalon.
b/w 162 pg Graphic Novel from Transfuzion Publishing
Foreword by Taliesin Jaffe
Story & Art by Aleister Gilgrim
The book has taken over 5 years to complete, and was finished the same month that Aleister’s son, Salem Ezra Grey, was born in 2008. The volume consists of 132+pgs and is rendered in hand-tooled pen and ink with digital tones and lettering. Begun as a triology, the first volume of Ferrymen works excellently as not only an introduction to the series but also as a stand alone story. Currently the book has been finished and is undergoing final prep through its publisher Transfuzion. Aleister is also working with colleagues to create a live-action film adaptation.
More updates will be on their way as soon as they’re available including release date and Previews Order Code.
