Updates are coming in, and will be hosted here. To save some room and scrolling for everyone, I’ve gone ahead and moved the saved version of the campaign and everything else that’s been posted regarding the initial donation run of Save Nerd Love 2009 to its own page, which can be found here.
With the new move, I’m also adding a separate page for updates (mentioned above) regarding the outcome of this little project, which is viewable here.

FINAL RESULTS
THE NERDMANCE IS ON!
And now, all of us here at Save Nerd Love 2009, are extactic and much pleased to announce the final results of the donation drive. As the title of this page states, things have come together, better than any of us could’ve imagined! Put simply: WE HAVE SUCCESS!
So, first thing’s first, the following are statements from Mr. Carl Jansson and Miss Molly McIsaac.
Firstly, from Carl:
I just want to thank everybody who spread the word, donated, or even just had this crazy thing in their thoughts the past few days. I NEVER expected any of this, and it really means a lot to both Molly and I. I can’t believe the support and love shown towards us.
Molly will be flying in Friday night the 24th, my birthday, and this would never have happened without you. It just got so big, exciting, and overwhelming, and I can’t wait to thank you all individually.
I will be at table C04 all week, so come by anytime during the Con, or if you see us around please come say hi. A great big special thanks to Aleister Gilgrim & April December for organizing this whole thing. You both are awesome people, and will always be near to my heart. Thank you, thank you THANK YOU!
P.S. Rich Johnston, get ready for a great big wet one! 
And now, from Molly:
Wow. What a completely surreal, absolutely amazing roller coaster the last few days have been. From joking around with Carl, saying “wouldn’t it be fun to meet at Comic-con?” to it actually HAPPENING… well, I’m still trying to get my head around it. Sometimes I forget the kindness of people, and then things like this remind me that there are genuine and sincere people everywhere. Especially within the comic book industry.
You are all amazing, and you have literally made me as happy as a five year old on Christmas. All day today my cheeks have hurt from smiling so much, and I keep breaking into uncontrollable fits of laughter.
It’s so hard for me to find words to express how incredibly much this means to us, so all I can say is THANK YOU. I truly mean it from the bottom of my heart. Everyone who donated and made this possible – you are truly good people, and I know karma is going to pay this forward to you.
And THANK YOU everyone, as they said, whether you spread the word, donated your money or simply kept Carl and Molly in your thoughts these last couple of days, this was only possible from your efforts. There is no way that this would have ever been possible without each and every one of you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
And just as Carl said, please(!) do stop by and say hi to both Carl and Molly this weekend if you’re able to attend the convention as well. Carl will be at TABLE C04 throughout the entire convention, and of course, Molly will be joining him sometime during Friday (we’ll be posting the final times as soon as the arrangements are finished). There is an excellent chance that they will be able to attend Nerd Prom 2099 as well, which is an amazing addition, that none of us thought would come through. Thank you very much to Meltdown Comics for helping to secure tickets for Carl and Molly in light of these unusual happenings. You guys are awesome!
And of course, there are some other very cool people to thank for all of this. Thank you (HUGE) to Rich Johnston of Bleeding Cool and of course the Bleeding Cool community! Thank you to everyone who reposted, retweeted, RT’d, posted the banners and told their friends and did SO much in such a short amount of time! Thank you also to the NormalityRestored crew for indulging me in cross-posting the announcement on the NR site! Thank you to Chris “Red Chris” Goodson for coming by late at night last night to help us polish the explination of what we were trying to do and helping us to find ways to get the message further than we ever thought feesible!
Again, to everyone, thank you so very, very much. This started as an act of romantic desperation, and one that we knew could backfire very, very easily. It counted on a lot of people coming together and understanding how much this would mean to people that they’ve never met before and in all liklihood live far, far away, at times even on a different continent. It is so refreshing, so amazing and so wonderful to see such an astounding act of kindness from so many people in the comic community that I can’t even begin to wrap my brain around it right now. All I want to write at this point is ‘thank you so very much!’ over and over and over again. But I don’t think that would begin to cover it for us, and most of all, for Carl and Molly!
Thank you once more, everyone! Thank you for giving this simple, but impossible little love story the most perfect and happy ending possible.
