The following is the original post and page content for this madcap, mad-dash against time to give Mr. Carl Jansson and Miss Molly McIsaac a chance to be together at SDCC. The transcript that follows will remain in its entirety until after the convention.
Save Nerd Love 2009: Carl <3 Molly:
Mr. Carl Jansson and Miss Molly McIsaac have been in contact for most of a year. Trading emails, snail-mail packages including hand made mix-tapes (yes, on cassette!) and sharing their lives and interests as best they can despite the several states physically separating them. Their relationship has blossomed quite a bit, but, more than anything they wish to finally meet in person at this years San Diego Comic-Con (Comic-Con International). The event is known as many things. It is the largest show of its kind in North America, and a place where nerds, fans and creators all converge for a few magical days and nights of collectibles and creativity under the warm Southern California sun. To many the main attraction is its function as an enormous meeting place; a place to make new contacts, find great buys, talk to other passionate fans and even take a chance at romance.
Carl and Molly are comic lovers trying their damndest to make ends meet on their own and hoping that a few lovely contributers can make their dream of making that tangible, physical meeting possible. They want to make sparks fly in the tsunami of back issues at this years San Diego Comic-Con and only you can help them.
The wishes of these two very special people can come true! Help Save Nerd Love 2009 for Mr. Carl Jansson and Miss Molly McIsaac.
By clicking the button below and donating, we can raise enough money in time to allow Mr. Carl Jansson and Miss Molly McIsaac to meet for the first time ever at the show, on Friday. Just in time for the Nerd Prom 2009 event hosted by Meltdown Comics.
Carl is a wonderful professional, a great lover of his industry and a spokesperson for the medium of comics. Most of all, Carl is a generous, dear friend who deserves this true chance at happiness with the girl who occupies his many thought bubbles and dreams.
Molly is a wonderful, creative, passionate young woman. A self described photographer, writer, dreamer, graphic designer, dog lover, comic book dork, video game store employee, traveler and toy collector. Aside from being a general badass, her influence on young master Carl is profound to say the least. There has been a huge positive shift in Carl since they first made contact many months ago. They truly bring out the best in each other.
Please do what you can, give what you’re able to and help make this small but important dream a reality for two very special people this year. Help Save Nerd Love 2009, and help us all to remember the really special things, the special and treasured relationships that can be born out of this medium we all love.

STATUS UPDATE (FINAL):
At the end the results were overwhelming! The target number was met right at the buzzer, but before the donations had to be closed at 8pm PST today (Monday, July 20th)! Can’t believe we did it, and none of it would ever have been possible without all of you! Thank you again!
Also, BIG Thanks to Meltdown Comics who are being super generous and holding a pair of tix for Carl and Molly if we can get this to go, so that they can attend Nerd Prom 2099 together!
